Our Philosophy Of Worship
Created to Worship - God's people are created to worship Him with exuberance and authenticity. The Worship Ministry of First Baptist Church exists to enable the church to experience God's presence in creative and meaningful ways. As the church gathers each week for worship, participants in the Worship Ministry offer their talents and skills as an offering to God and as ministry to their fellow worshipers.
Growing Worshipers - The Worship Ministry offers opportunities for persons of all ages. From infancy, preschoolers are engaged in weekly worship arts experiences with music and movement. Elementary children participate in age-appropriate choirs, developing their skills in music and drama and learning spiritual concepts through the arts. Teenage students perform in choirs, drama groups, and other worship arts ensembles, using their talents in worship-leading and ministry opportunities. Adults of all ages and backgrounds participate in the Celebration Choir and Orchestra or other drama, visual arts, and technology opportunities in worship.
MARION ARTS CENTER
Inspiring the Artist in Everyone - A division of the Worship Arts Ministry of First Baptist Church, the Marion Arts Center exists to provide Christ-centered arts education opportunities to persons of all ages and skill levels. Students benefit from well-qualified teachers, all committed to artistic excellence and a God-honoring approach to teaching and performance.
The Marion Arts Center offers open enrollment each semester in the following areas: Piano, Guitar, Bass, Drums, Violin, Painting, and Dance. MAC students have the opportunity to participate in an annual showcase performance each spring. Additionally, many students become involved in other performance opportunities in the church and community.
